BC Greenhouse Builders Ltd., a family owned business, is celebrating their 70th Anniversary in 2022. BC Greenhouse Builders Ltd. was incorporated in 1951. Henry Heinen, employed with the company since 1959, purchased the company in 1972 with his wife Greta. They both thought that this would be an excellent business that could grow with their family. With Henry’s expertise in design and manufacturing, they endeavored to create the highest quality greenhouses.
Greta Heinen joined the Fortitude Crew of Abreast In A Boat in 2012. She enjoyed her short paddling time with Fortitude and then the Hope Boat. Greta lived life to the fullest ~ with joy, laughter and lots of strong coffee! She was most generous and kind. True to her Dutch roots, she had a very green thumb and authored a book on gardening, “In Your Greenhouse ~ A Beginner’s Guide”. Henry and Greta’s son Rick now leads the company into new markets with innovative designs while continuing the legacy of a quality made product.
Sadly, Greta passed in 2015. Since that time her family at BC Greenhouse Builders Ltd. has sponsored Abreast In A Boat in Greta's memory. Abreast In A Boat is very grateful for their continued support over these many years! For more about the story of BC Greenhouse Builders click here.
