Abreast with Fortitude Receives Lifesaving Society Medals

Abreast with FORT-itude, our Fort Langley crew, were honored with their second award for playing a prominent role in saving a drowning man on the Bedford Channel in April 2014. The crew received Certificates of Merit at the 103rd Annual Awards Ceremony of the BC and Yukon Lifesaving Society at the Vancouver Hotel on March 28th.

Heather Innes, Cheryl Watson, Juanita Peglar (Abreast with FORT-itude) and Jan Choquette (Fast and Furious dragonboat team) were selected to receive silver medals for their part in leading the crew to the rescue. The crew hopes that their recognition will remind all boaters to wear life jackets and exercise caution while on the water.
