Jenni passed away on March 4th, 2005 at the age of 52.
Our friend, Jenni Power, has gone off to paddle in other waters. Jenni, in dragon boat circles known affectionately as JP, joined Abreast In A Boat in 1999 and immediately endeared herself to all with whom she came in contact. To be with Jenni was inspirational. When you were with her – paddling, painting, walking, writing, or in her home – you knew you mattered and your time together was special. She was so much fun, she loved to laugh, she cared, she sparkled, and she was kind, inclusive, appreciative, courageous and brave. All these traits came into their own in 2004 as she trained and completed the first Weekend to End Breast Cancer.
Jenni had a magical zest for life as a wife, mother, daughter, daughter-in-law, friend and ‘Power’ paddler. To her husband Bob, her daughters Carly and Meaghan, and her extended family, thank-you for sharing Jenni with us and for giving us the opportunity to have our lives enriched by hers. She will always be with us!!
