Dianne Price paddled with Abreast In A Boat, Rocky Point in Port Moody, BC.

A year after her journey with breast cancer, in 2017 at the age of 73 she attended a novice meeting and was hooked.

She shared So many standout memories such as the flower ceremony being emotional at many levels, a memorial to those who did not survive, and the overwhelming realization of how many women have endured breast cancer and we two hundred participating that day were but a few. Quite an honour for a novice and to be part of an amazing crew!   Sadly, she lost her battle in March 2018.

A quote from Dianne, “I facetiously told friends that the paddling was going to do me in or make me a better person! It has made me appreciate that all of us who have had breast cancer have survived a journey that no one ever hopes to make. Abreast in a Boat brings us all together so that we may continue to challenge ourselves with the support and encouragement of each other. Abreast in a Boat has been treatment for my soul”

Dianne quickly won all her crew over right from the beginning.  She appreciated the experience so very much and ultimately gifted a brand new Dragon Boat to her Rocky Point crew when they were using a rental boat.

We will long be grateful for Dianne’s compassion, humor and great Style.
